Past history, origin and culture, could be better designated as cultural heritage. Cultural heritage is a crucial part of our lives and also plays a big role in the nation’s recognition and distinctiveness. However the statement above is very direct, specific and untenable. In addition to that, multiple arguments are going to support the statements in favour of and against it.

A nation solely exists because of its past history and culture. People that constitute a nation should know what are the basis of its formation, as that is something that they owe to their ancestors that made it possible to live a life as they do today. If people were not to know their cultural heritage it would be a degradation of the endeavor of their forebears. To put in in other words the tree (represents effort) that was planted by our ancestors would slowly depart its life, as if it would not have roots.

Nations differ from one another because every one of them has an unique cultural heritage. And that is how for example Slovenians can be separated from Americans. We have totally different culture, origin and past history. Cultural heritage only reflects as an important rich part in one’s nation, if the representatives of the nation are familiar with it. Otherwise it perishes, the tree dies. Cultural heritage helps to fight against assimilation into other cultures. If one were not to have cultural heritage one would certainly crave for it and grasp the cultural heritage of another nation or in some cases be forced to accept it, if the genuine cultural heritage is still present in some corners of national society. If one would to forget its cultural heritage one would crave for a new one. The same thing is if someone has forgotten its cultural heritage or if one has never even attained it.The tree would die because a people would forget what made them distinctive. In conclusion we can consider assimilation the death of cultural heritage.

Cultural heritage is certainly something to be proud of, but is it really as important as present or the future of the nation? No. Changes can not inflict the past, but they sure can inflict present and future, which is way more important to the growth of the nation in many views. We can contrive and/or pioneer something that will be known as cultural heritage in the future. That is why it is not that important to know cultural heritage in detail. What is more significant is the tendency to change something that is faulty in the society and to underpin what is peculiar and useful, what will make nations differ from one another. That is why it can not be said that a people that is more concentrated on the future and the present does not have roots, does not have a source of life.

Some nations might emerge under the stone, and they do not have their cultural heritage yet. They could adopt a cultural heritage from another nation — in a way assimilate, or they could start developing their own. Therefore it can not be said that a people that does not not know the cultural heritage is like a tree without roots. Clearly they do not have it so far.

I totally agree with the statement above as it helps us to determine who we are and what nation we represent. Many times it helps us through tough times of suppression, and forced assimilation under the hand of a ruling authority. The cultural heritage is something to hold on and to protect. It is important not to forget it or we will most likely suffer the unpleasant consequences.
